Comprehensive Financial Life Management
Integrative is a small, independent firm with access to powerful, dynamic, global resources. While there are many larger insurance and financial management firms, their clients are often frustrated by impersonal relationships, disconnected planning, and an allegiance to proprietary products for compensation. Traditionally, even the best "Financial Advisors" focus only on managing "performance" of investments and give little to no thought to how those investments relate to the holistic needs of the client.
Integrative strives to provide the most ethical, innovative, and responsible financial solutions for the individuals, and organizations, we serve.
From start to finish, the experience at Integrative is different; human to human connection is of paramount importance. No impersonal 800 number to call, no "robo advisor", no price quoting, nothing that reduces a client to an impersonal number. Instead, we identify risk factors in your life, understand your financial desires, work toward your life goals, link your values and finally create a plan, utilizing the Fiduciary Standard, for you to implement across the entirety of your life, with us serving as your trusted guide.
Any financial plan that does not identify, and manage, risk is dangerous and irresponsible. We spend time figuring out where threats exist for you and work diligently to reduce or eliminate them. This work is not glamorous, and at times it can be uncomfortable, but it must be done. The result is a financial plan set on a firm foundation. Only after this important work has been completed can we move on to saving and growing money.
Connecting your value system to your finances.
Investments are about choices: what you put away now, the risks you take, and the goals you set. Where we choose to spend, and invest our money, is a direct reflection of our value system. Shopping for our food in a big box store, versus choosing to patronize a local vendor makes a big difference in the life, and economy of the local community. Likewise, where we put money away for our children’s education, or our own retirement program, can make a big difference in the global economic community.
Values Based Investing (VBI) looks at investments that have a sound track record in terms of environmental protection, human rights, and morality first. Then, after screening, evaluates the fundamentals of the investment in terms of potential for return on investment. For example, if an individual believes that our current energy system is unsustainable, but does not help make changes by funding the individuals and businesses working to develop new technologies, the current system stays in place. In fact, your retirement funds may actually be going to companies that have a poor energy record. Keep in mind that the same innovative company that is taking a risk today is the same company that may develop an energy technology that in time changes the world. One could only imagine the potential profit an investor could make by investing in a new technology that the entire world could and wants to use in the future.
