I finished a full military career managing the Information Technology resources of an entire military base. The complexity of skills required to manage people, equipment and financial resources were honed to perfection in both times of peace, and in theaters of war. As a capstone of a varied military career, I received the "Defense of Liberty" Medal from NY State, for service in the recovery of New York City, following the 9/11/2001 tragedy.
In 2005, I decided to retire from military service to pursue the dream of starting a financial management firm. After a complicated vetting process, I was selected by New York Life as a career agent and excelled within that company for five years. In 2010, I went fully "Independent", and currently serve as a comprehensive financial life manager.
I am an appointed National Education Association (NEA) Retirement Specialist, serving a number of school districts, helping Educators sort out the details of their retirement plans. Other large Associations I support are the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association (NPA), Literacy Volunteers and United Way. I proudly financially support the following organizations: Columbia Land Conservancy, Nature Conservancy, Clearwater, Humane Society, Hudson Valley Rail Trail and the Olana Historic Site Avocationally, I am the Coordinator of the court appointed Batterer Accountability Program (BAP) in Columbia County (NY); working to hold offenders of Domestic Violence accountable in a 52 week mandated "Alternative to Sentencing" program.
I am an active trail runner, mountain biker, kayaker and general outdoor enthusiast. I love sustainable agriculture practice, serve as a Cornell University Cooperative Extension "Master Gardner" and am a regular at a local farmers markets. Having already traveled a large part of the World, and 48 of the 50 United States, my goal still remains to circumnavigate the Earth in a sailboat. Watching good documentaries, compelling dramas and dry British humor are all guilty pleasures.
